You need to consider what you are really trying to, create a coherent plan for the piece and iron out the contradictions. You also need to proofread and get rid of sentences that sound academic but don't really mean anything e.g. 'His proliferated career means that he still needs to comply with his old aims of appeal as well as new audiences.'
