RESEARCH | DSLR Test Footage
This piece of planning was to supply me with a range of cinematic techniques to apply it to my music video. We selected a range of shot types to experiment with and compose to allow us to practice before the final shoot.
The shots were relatively straight forward to compose. The pull focus, diagonal shot and leading lines shot all prove how the mise-en-scene come into effect when filming. Therefore, providing us with the respect and idealistic consideration for the location we are filming in. Balanced shots and those complying to the rule of threes seem quite simplistic and ineffective to use. Yet this test footage allowed us to experiment again with the composition to make the shots more powerful.44

*UPDATED* PLANNING | Suitability Of Songs
SONG 1 - Does Anybody Care?
https://soundcloud.com/yogocoprecords/benaddict-does-anybody-care-feat-nuphzed
This song is vastly dynamic, with ranging tempo and volume yet it possesses a clear beat and rhythm, which could easily be adapted to in a music video, alongside a clear narrative that suggests a sort of conversation - something that could influence that narrative of the video. However, the developing tempo of the song may generate obstacles in terms of editing and following a changing pace of the song. As well as this, the lyrics are rather explicit at certain points in the track which is something the exam board testifies against using. Overall, this song although has potential of good filmography, It isn't as appropriate as we hoped for it to be.
SONG 2 - Where Now?
https://soundcloud.com/harry-ames-347520632/where-now
This is a song composed by myself, which means that we cannot use it as it goes against the exam boards specification. However, if I was to analyse its suitability, I would say that it is rather suitable due to its clear beat, and how it is catchy. Yet there are no lyrics which means that we would have to compose and record our own to an industry standard, as well as that, the song lacks length and wont be long enough to make a video for.
SONG 3 - Call Me Up
https://soundcloud.com/sinderlyn/call-me-up
This song has clear sections with at very catchy and clear beat. This will allow us to create a well edited music video for it. As well as this the song has a simplistic beat and heartfelt lyrics of which will be good to comprehend and intemperate in a metaphoric way. Furthermore, the length is very suitable and will also leave space for a filmic approach.
SONG 4 - Oppsie
https://soundcloud.com/goodmorningisaband/oppsie
This last clip doesn't have the required elements to compose a well made music video. The pace and overall clarity of the song is rather messy and/or unclear. As well as this, it doesn't have obvious sections of which would make the shots easier to plan as well as a monotone and faded set of lyrics that we, the audience, cannot really understand. As well as how some of the lyrical metaphoric interpretations can be deemed as explicit.
